What is The Legacy Session?

The Lessons and The Laughter™ Legacy Session is a guided storytelling experience that captures your life stories, memories, and wisdom, beautifully preserved as a keepsake for your family.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Because every Legacy Session involves dedicated studio time, a professional production crew and private transport — all reserved exclusively for your family — we are unable to offer refunds once a session is booked.

We do offer one complimentary reschedule with 7 days notice.

In the event of serious illness, medical emergency or bereavement, we will always do the right thing by your family. Please reach out and we will take care of you.

Is this only for older people?

Not at all. While many clients are parents or grandparents, anyone who values their story and legacy can benefit from the experience.

What does the experience involve?

We guide you through a relaxed, meaningful conversation, capturing your stories in a natural and comfortable way, no preparation needed.

How long does the session take?

Sessions are designed to be relaxed and unhurried, typically lasting about 2 hours to ensure your story is captured properly.

What do I receive at the end?

You’ll receive a professionally crafted video and all the raw footage. Depending on the package you choose you may also receive the Legacy Session Edition (book) as keepsakes that preserves your stories. They are designed to be treasured and shared for years to come.

Is it really worth it?

I'm Betsy

My father passed away when I was young. In the years that followed, I found myself reaching for memories that were slowly fading, the way he said my name, the way he told a story, the laugh that filled the room.

I never got to ask him how he wanted to be remembered or capture the stories he would have wanted to pass on to his grandchildren. Grandchildren he never got to meet.

I'm Paul

Over the years, I've had the privilege of reading many eulogies.

Almost every time, I found myself thinking, "I never knew that."

Stories of courage. Sacrifice. Adventures. Quiet acts of kindness. The moments that shaped a person's life, shared only after they were gone.

It made me realise how much of someone's story is often discovered too late.

When the people who carry our family history are no longer here, those stories can be lost forever.

Our stories are different, but they led us to the same place.

We both came to understand how easily a lifetime of stories can disappear. Not because they weren't important, but because no one thought to preserve them while there was still time.

That's why The Lessons & The Laughter exists: to preserve the stories, voices and laughter of the people we love while they're still here, so future generations can hear them in their own words, know them beyond photographs, and carry forward the wisdom, the warmth, and the wonderful ordinariness of a life well lived.
